Joanne McNeill

Joanne currently holds the position of Community Capacity Building Officer Social Enterprise at Parramatta City Council in Sydney, Australia. This role is the first of its kind in local government in Australia and is responsible for a program promoting growth and sustainability of social enterprise in the region and contributing to the development of the national social enterprise movement.

In 2009 she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship which saw her undertake a study tour to the US, Canada and the UK exploring how the public sector can support social enterprise development. Joanne has just commenced a Doctorate in Political & Social Thought and holds a Master of Arts in Communication Management and a Diploma in Management Studies.

She has briefly worked in the not-for-profit sector, in events management and community theatre, and also spent two years living and working in Central America with her then young family.
