Tony Mayow
Tony has had 30 years in community development, in community and local authority settings. His final position was Group Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy at Waitakere City Council. The section led Council’s work on strategic relationships with communities and central government agencies.
Since 2004 Tony has been self employed, working on strategic brokerage, community development and local government issues. He is committed to building a strong community and voluntary sector based on collaborative leadership. He has developed a deep interest and specialty in community sector governance.
In addition to Chairing Community Waitakere, he has a national role as President of the NZ Federation of Voluntary Welfare Organisations. He also chairs the Board of Man Alive, and is Vice Chair of Te Korowai Ture o Waitakere, the Waitakere Community Law Service. Tony has recently joined the Board of the Auckland Communities Foundation, is a member of the Impact Research Advisory Board, and is involved with the Auckland Community Development Alliance
