Vivian Hutchinson

Vivian Hutchinson is a community activist, social entrepreneur, and a citizen of Taranaki. He has been one of the pioneers in community-based action for jobs in New Zealand, especially in establishing programmes for the support of unemployed people, and skills for community economic development.

He supports and mentors projects that have the potential to make a fundamental difference to New Zealand’s social challenges, and he has been one of the main organisers of the New Zealand Social Entrepreneur Fellowship.

He is a writer and speaker, learner and gatherer. This year he will be launching the “How Communities Heal” project – an online series of stories on social innovation and social change featuring the work of New Zealand social entrepreneurs.
